Lakeside 72 Butlins Minehead Review

Situated in the seaside town of Minehead lakeside 72 has a home away from home feel. Located on the Butlins camp itself you will be spoilt for choice on entertainment and activities. Before our stay we must state that the hosts made everything so simple and will always go the extra mile to make your holiday one to remember. When we arrived the heating was switched on keeping us warm and toasty in the winter weather. The caravan was spotless something which is not normal on a caravan site of this size. Boasting 3 bedrooms and a pull out bed this accommodation can hold up to 8 people ideal for you to share with friends to cut down costs. However there is only 1 Toilet and shower so for 8 people you will need a bathroom time schedule. The outside area is spacious, enough grass for the youngsters to run around whilst you relax on the private table bench enjoying a brew or alcoholic beverage. Just a few feet down the road is the caravan sites own pub named the highwaymen, here will have many laughs and sing o longs with the staff and entertainers.

72  Includes the following:

As you can see the host have really thought about their guests all you would need to bring is your swim shorts and evening attire. The Wi-Fi was a huge selling point for us as we could upload our family photos from the day onto social media with out the dreaded mobile data declining heavily. We have stayed at Lakeside 72 a handful of times and the host always seem to be upgrading their accommodation bringing guests the latest upgrades.

As for Butlins (the site where this mobile home is situated) you will never be bored. I recommend you downloading the butlins app before your stay which gives you times and locations of all the latest shows and activities. From entertainment such as ‘the masked singer live’ and celebrity guests like Stephen Mulhern or children’s TV personality Justin Fletcher aka Mr Tumble it ranges for all audiences.

What To Do?

You simply won’t have enough time in the day to cram in all the activities and see the whole camp which will make you want to go back next year for a second bite of the cake. If you have youngsters below is just a few adrenaline kicks they achieve.

Archery

Football camp

Climbing wall

Pottery painting

An on site fairground

Water world swimming pool

High ropes

We highly recommend the fairground at night time where all your favourite rides such as the dodgems or waltzers are completely free. Also if you get a chance the circus is extremely exciting for only a small fee.
