Cards Against Humanity Review

The Cards Against Humanity card game offers everything you need for countless hours of laughter and enjoyment with your guests. This party starter phenomenon, a past Games 100 Award winner, is already established in many households' game collections. At a New Year's Eve celebration, eight students from Highland Park High School created cards against humanity. Later, in 2010, the game was posted on the Kickstarter website. The product was in tremendous demand, and the proceeds (approximately $15,000) allowed for a larger-scale production of the game.

HOW TO PLAY

1. The game is divided into black cards and white cards. The black card contains a sentence lacking 1-3 words, and the white card contains a phrase.

2. In each round of the game, one player is selected in turn as the referee. The other players have 10 white cards in their hand to answer the questions raised by the black cards. After all players have selected the cards, they will show their white cards.

3. The referee chooses a "most satisfactory" answer and awards that player with a point.

Set a total points tally before the game begins to achieve an overall winner.

WHATS IN THE STARTER BOX?

The main game starter kit includes

• 500 white cards

• 100 black cards

That’s it, that’s all you need for this lit game.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Being the party animals that we are, on the weekends we frequently invite people over for a few drinks to unwind. The objective is to always have board games or a quiz accessible to keep our guests entertained and liven up the evening. This time, the goal was to provide a game that requires little thought and will make the majority of the players laugh on a regular basis. We discovered the Cards Against Humanity game online by typing 'fun party games for adults' on Google. The game rules above make it clear that there isn't much work involved; all you have to do is lay down a card that will generate the loudest laugh from your party. With the starting deck available on Amazon for a fair £29, it was a gamble we were willing to take. One of the game's best features is that you can play with as many people as you desire. The blank sentences on the black cards are obscure, such as "The class field trip was ruined by ____." At that point, each player must choose a white card from their deck to complete the word or phrase that is lacking, then turn that card over to the round's dealer. We won't repeat any of the flung cards because the deck has a lot of explicit content, but I can share some of the PG content that was played, such as "Batman" and "A dangerous new type of onion." It is evident that a more obscure response will result in a more favorable response from the audience. If this is the kind of game you want your kids to play, there is a family edition designed specifically for the younger crowd to enjoy. You can also enjoy a variety of expansion packs, like the Disney pack or the Kardashian add-on, which is really cool. Since purchasing the starter deck, we've bought three expansions and like to combine all the sets into one enormous game. The Cards Against Humanity experience was a big hit with our guests, and we now always have the game on standby at casual gatherings. The idea of simply unwinding while sipping an alcoholic beverage and making silly, strange sentences you wouldn't normally hear on a daily basis should be enough to sell the game in itself.
