The Creeks End Inn, The Real Heart Of Kingsbridge

The Creeks End Inn lies in the centre of Kingsbridge, directly on the town square. With such a great location, this institution is bound to get a lot of traffic, especially when events take place on the band stand on the left side. The town square is the focal point for various meetings, including music festivals and the main attraction, 'fair week,' a week of entertainment for the local community. The inn also has spectacular views of the town's estuary feature.

The Creeks End Inn not only offers a sit down meal but allows its customers to take advantage of a take away menu and ice cream parlour. All produce is brought from the local community which is a big selling point amongst its regulars.

Is This A Restaurant Or A Pub?

Inside ‘The Creeks’ (as the locals commonly call it), there is a rather boozer feel to it. This is due to the low lighting, which makes it seem like an old-school public house. Situated inside, you will find a fair amount of seating around the square bar, with a proper restaurant area located up just a short set of stairs. Outside, there are plenty of wooden benches and round tables to enjoy a beverage when the great British sunshine finally comes out to play.

Following our visit, we found the staff to be extremely accommodating, attending to our every need and offering us all the essentials to make our meal pleasurable. The best way to describe the creeks is as having decent food at decent prices with a nice atmosphere. I’m a burger eater; I could eat these beasts all day long, so obviously I opted for this on the menu.

The beef burger with bacon I had can only be described as "wow." You could hear the crunch of the lettuce, letting your brain kno you had something fresh in your mouth. The beef was tender and juicy—areal hearty treat for your body. This is how pub food should be. Served with fresh salad and fries for £13.25, this is a fair price. My plate was full, and so was my belly after I devoured this tasty dish. I was aware of my surroundings, and every plate that was brought out was demolished by its purchasers.

We returned for the Creeks End Carvery on Sunday, which takes place between 12 and 3. Simply purchase a ticket and head on up to the freshly cooked kitchen. Meats consisting of pork and beef make their way up the hot table, and you can choose from parsnips, potatoes, stuffing, carrots, broccoli, and much more, all grown here in Devon.

What can you wash your meal down with?

Showing off its local connections, the Creeks End Inn offers many Devon-brewed ales, along with your regular lagers, Coors and Carling. If you prefer coffee, there are plenty of Italian giants on the menu to tickle your taste buds.
