Disney Pixar Ultimate Launcher Review, Does It Really Zoom
If you have youngsters in your household then you have no doubt heard of the Disney creation ‘Cars’. Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater and friends make children’s imagination run wild with their fun and quirky adventures, From comedy and valuable life lessons of teamwork ‘Cars’ should definitely be on YOUR bucket list of films to see. Disney as we all know is a well established brand so all products with this special logo stamp must be of good quality.
We took the Disney Pixar Ultimate Launcher for a test drive to give our readers an honest review of what to expect from this children's play toy.
Out of the packaging the product looks exactly as the picture above and seems highly detailed. The plastic frame is durable and withstands a heavy handed 2 Year old which for the price you pay you would hope for. With 8 lanes to shoot out your collection of cars it just gets more exciting for your little ones. Although the Lightning McQueen car provided is plastic we tried the Launcher on other brands such as hotwheels and your general supermarket clip strip branded cars. With a simple set up all you require is to place up to 8 cars in the different tracks, pull back the orange levers then press the two rectangular squares to fire out. The Cars Launcher can also connect to other products from the same creator to build a small Cars village to emulate the movie.
Our first experiment was taken out on carpet. The results showed that although the hot wheels cars were metal they still moved the same distance as the plastic lighting McQueen car which was provided in the box. The distance travelled was a big let down measuring on a tape measure the furthest they travelled after multiple attempts was a mere 30 centimeters. We then decided to up the anti and tested the product on laminate and vinyl flooring. The results changed dramatically, almost doubling in length to be exact. The process can become repetitive very quickly but if your little ones are mad about cars they would enjoy this. Our son aged 2 turned into a Teletubby with the words 'Again, Again' now haunting me at night. I would say its far better to have all 8 tracks loaded with your most loved machines to see which one comes out on top.
The Launcher can also turn into a carry case, easy for your child to transport around the house or take on your travels.
Price:
Ranging between £25-32 for a Disney branded toy you would espect to be paying this. Is it worth the price? In our opinion unless you have laminated flooring in your home then it’s a bit disappointing and you would feel let down by the £30+ leaving your bank account. Saying this a young child of 2+ did have hours of fun repeating the shoot out process over and over. However after a few days the novelty wore off and now the item collects dust in the toy box.
OUR SCORE

GOLD RATING
Fun Factor 7
Durability 8
Price 7
Lifespan 6
Fun factor: The product does give the young ones a good time however the flooring does matter. if your child is cars mad then its a great toy.
Durability: Like mose Disney products this design is bomb proof.
Price: Average Price, around the mark you would expect to be paying for a big brand product.
Lifespan: Becomes repetitive quickly but again some children love the concept of that.
ALL IN ALL
With the price being slightly high you would need a product that you would use over and over. our review shows the product quality to be top notch however the repetitiveness become quite apparent very quickly. However for a child who loves cars and the movie this is a dreamy product.
