Pizza Planet Kingsbridge Review-Does It Bring The Italian Taste?

Based in the exquisite town of Kingsbridge, Pizza Planet has a lot to offer both its locals and seasonal travellers. Trading since 2005, this business has seen significant growth and is now firmly established as a leading takeaway service in the South Hams area. This pizza restaurant can be enjoyed by many because it offers a 5-mile delivery radius. Many of you are probably familiar with Pizza Planet from the classic Disney movie Toy Story. Although this specific take-out does not in any way resemble the children’s movie in terms of a dining experience, nothing should detract from what this place has to offer. Guaranteeing top customer service and value for money, we had to try this pizza shop out for ourselves.

What’s on the menu?

Pizza Planet Kingsbridge really has the customer as its focus. With plenty to choose from on its menu, it caters for everyone. Below are just a few options that the consumer can choose from.

MARGHERITA (Just mozzarella & tomato)

AMERICAN HOT (Pepperoni, more pepperoni & Jalapeño peppers)

TEXAS (Spicy chicken, red onions & mixed peppers)

TUNA Melt  (Tuna, sweetcorn & Parmesan Cheese)

Volcano (Spicy beef, pepperoni, Jalapeño peppers & habanero hot sauce)

Santorini (Roasted artichoke hearts, Sunblush tomatoes, black olives & feta; finished with a balsamic glaze drizzle)

This is just a fraction of what they have to offer. The current number of pizza types on the menu is 25. Pizzas come in 3 different sizes: small (7 inches), medium (12 inches), and large (15 inches). They also offer a gluten-free base, which comes as a standard 11 inches. If that isn't enough, the restaurant also offers a selection of side dishes for your enjoyment, ranging from curly fries to chicken goujons to garlic bread, leaving your tummies rumbling with joy.

Prices range from £7.90 to £17.80. You could always opt for the "build your own pizza" option, where you can keep track of how much you're spending with the additional cost per topping.

Our experience

As locals to Kingsbridge, we have to acknowledge the fact that takeout options in this area have been tried out many times. Kingsbridge has a wide range of cuisine alternatives, including Indian, Chinese, pizza, and fish & chips, ensuring that no one passing through the neighbourhood goes hungry.  With a half-Italian wife and the privilege of travelling to Italy on a regular basis, our pizza reviews are always critical, as we have eaten at the best traditional pizzerias the world has to offer. As previously noted, we have ordered from this company on numerous occasions, usually selecting the large Texas with added sausage and an extra small garlic bread to serve a family of five. Taking payments over the phone due to the global pandemic, this company moved with the times; we felt comfortable giving our card digits over the phone because we knew our information was secure. We requested a delivery time slot, generally for around a program time, so we could enjoy our food whilst watching fantastic Saturday night TV, and upon this request, the customer service team was exceptional in accommodating us. Our pizza arrived exactly at 8 p.m., as requested. The smell from the box was exquisite, and the kids' eyes lit up as they opened the lid. Everything had that distinct flavour that you would associate with Italy. The dough was soft, and the toppings were plentiful; we left feeling full and satisfied in terms of value for money.

Don't be concerned about the cost. The quality on offer will not leave you disappointed. Yes, you can get a cheaper pizza at the supermarket, but your taste buds will be disappointed.
