Where We Stayed

We decided to take a chance on this lodging because it was the wife's birthday and we were going to spend the night in Plymouth. We wanted to see if this well-known business lived up to the hype. At the beginning of January, the price of just £58 for one night had us sold. We arrived early for our check-in, but the gracious receptionist let us book into another room that had already been cleaned by the maids because we had come a long way. This was a nice beginning to what turned out to be a wonderful stay. With 247 rooms distributed over 8 floors, this hotel is often always open for all to enjoy. We were assigned to the third level, so we walked across the opulent lobby and into the nearest elevator. For the price, the facility seemed nearly upper-class; the lobby was clean, orderly, and serene; fireplaces set a scene; and the inside was elegant. When we entered our room, which included a double bed, TV, two nightstands, a large mirror, and a bath/shower, we found everything we needed, including a hair dryer and an iron. The room itself was not large; it was just adequate for two people. The room, like the downstairs facilities, was clean. We could have just been lucky, but please let us know if you have had a different experience with this exact location.

Now, this is just taking the room at face value, so to really evaluate how clean it is, we devised a little game for you all to play. We believe this game could be a huge smash for Michael Mcintyre's Big Show, so we have decided to name this game 'WHAT'S UNDER YOUR HOTEL BED?' (© TripleM Reviews 05/01/2023)

Gameplay guidelines:

Simply turn your phone torch to maximum and dive beneath the bed to be amazed. This game isn’t for weak stomachs.

Soooo here is what we found:

Soooo here what we found:

2 odd socks

3 used tissues

£3 (turned into reception)

Chocolate bar wrappers

Take the findings as you will, but it is evident that the cleaning crew must go the extra mile for their visitors. That was just one room; imagine what the other 246 rooms have to offer.

This hotel's location is remarkable, and it lives up to its name by being in a prime spot. Drakes Circus, a massive Plymouth shopping mall with stores such as Primark, Next, and New Look, was just a few yards away. Furthermore, you are literally on top of the new restaurant complex, which includes brands such as Five Guys and Turtle Bay, so there is much to offer for a fun night out.

Amenities: Has all essentials could get higher marks if spa and pool area were included

ALL IN ALL

Because of the size of the hotel and the likely low cleaning budget, I won't spend too much time thinking about the "what's under the bed" game. It's difficult to thoroughly clean a room before the next visitors arrive. The rooms were in generally good shape and had everything they needed for an affordable price. Do we intend to return? 100%. The hotel was in a great location, with the bus stop for the trip home right outside.
